Tiffiny Boulet is the Executive Administrator at TerraVolta Resources. Tiffiny has 30 years of experience in office management and executive administrative roles. She has extensive experience managing travel, event planning, and new employee training. She previously worked at Merrill Lynch, Creekstone Companies, and Amegy Bank. Tiffiny has a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M-Commerce and is a licensed Notary Public in Texas.
Jamie Liang is the President and Chief Executive Officer of TerraVolta Resources, a company he founded in 2022. Mr. Liang has over 22 years of management and leadership experience. He has co-founded several companies in the energy and sustainability sectors, leading them from inception to successful exits. Prior to his entrepreneurial and executive leadership roles, Mr. Liang served as an investment banker at major Wall Street firms, leading complex project and structured financings in excess of $20 billion for major infrastructure clients. He received a B.A. in Economics from Rice University and a M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he is a CFA and CAIA charterholder.
Nicholas Muscara is the Vice President of Land & Business Development of TerraVolta Resources. He is a seasoned energy professional with over 13 years of experience overseeing all phases of land management activities and cultivating strategic business development opportunities. Prior to joining the founding team at TerraVolta, Mr. Muscara was the Manager of Land & Business Development at EnerVest, where he led the land team responsible for the oversight and management of 6,500+ oil and gas wells and 600,000+ net acres in multiple basins across the onshore United States. Mr. Muscara received a B.A. in History (Honors) from Rice University and a M.B.A. in Energy from the Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma.
Kyle Rhoden is the Land Manager of TerraVolta Resources. Mr. Rhoden is a passionate and skilled professional with 15 years of experience in the energy industry and 20 years of experience in land. He has leveraged his abilities and expertise to deliver high-quality results and find innovative solutions to complex problems. He has spearheaded multiple high-value acquisitions and divestitures, assembled large acreage positions, and overseen the land-related functions of aggressive development programs. Mr. Rhoden obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and a Master of Energy Business degree from the University of Tulsa. He is also a designated Certified Professional Landman (CPL) with the American Association of Professional Landmen.
Ethan Shear is a Finance Associate at TerraVolta Resources. Mr. Shear is a finance professional with over 7 years of experience in the energy industry. Prior to joining TerraVolta, he worked as a consultant in the industrials practice at a strategy consulting firm. Mr. Shear started his career as a reservoir engineer within the oil and gas industry in both operational and consulting roles. He has extensive experience evaluating energy assets for operators, banks, government entities, private equity firms, and other financial institutions. He holds an M.B.A. from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Robert Sims is the Vice President, Controller of TerraVolta Resources. Mr. Sims has over 19 years of accounting and finance leadership experience within the energy industry, with increasing responsibilities in areas focusing on financial controllership and systems, operational accounting and finance, and process development and improvement. Mr. Sims began his career in public accounting at KPMG and has held leadership positions in companies that operated upstream, midstream, downstream and oilfield service assets. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
Nick Soto-Kerans is a Project Geologist at TerraVolta Resources. He is a hydrogeologist and carbonate geologist with both academic research and exploration experience. Nick specializes in critical mineral geochemistry with TerraVolta Resources where he works on identifying producible critical mineral geology across TerraVolta's resources. Nick has published several research studies in hydrogeology and carbonate geology. He holds a B.S. in Hydrogeology from The University of Texas and an M.S. in Geology from the University of South Florida.
Ross Tomson is the Chief Technology Officer of TerraVolta Resources. Mr. Tomson is a high energy entrepreneur and executive with over 16 years of energy industry experience, bringing an exacting focus on delivering large-scale technology and business goals. He has founded, grown, and exited companies to a large publicly traded company. Mr. Tomson holds over 30 publications and multiple patents in the water chemistry and technology areas. Mr. Tomson has originated, managed, and completed numerous multi-party technology development and commercial deployment projects. He received a B.A. in Economics from Rice University, a Masters in Environmental Science from Rice University, and a J.D. from South Texas College of Law.
Joyce Zhang is the Chief Financial Officer of TerraVolta Resources. She comes to TerraVolta from the Energy and Minerals Group where she is currently a Principal. Prior to joining EMG in July 2015, Ms. Zhang served as Analyst in the Energy Investment Banking Group at Evercore Partners from 2013 to 2015. While at Evercore, Ms. Zhang worked on a large assortment of mergers and acquisitions assignments in the upstream oil and gas and midstream/Master Limited Partnership sectors of the energy industry. Ms. Zhang graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Operations and Information Management in 2013.
Janet Clark is a Senior Advisor to TerraVolta Resources. She is a retired corporate executive of several large, public energy companies. She currently chairs the Nominating, Governance and Sustainability Committee on the Board of Directors of EOG Resources and serves as Chair of Texas Instruments Audit Committee. In addition, Ms. Clark currently serves as the Chair of the Houston Symphony’s Board, having served as President from 2017 to 2020. She also serves on the boards of Resources for the Future, the NPR Foundation, the YES Prep Advisory board, the Hermann Park Conservancy Board of Advisors, and The Houston Seminar board. Ms. Clark previously served as Chair of the Board of Trustees for YES Prep, and the boards of Teach for America-Houston, the Houston Public Media Foundation, the Rice University Council of Overseers for the Jones Graduate School of Business, and the Governing Council of the Shepherd School of Music. A native of New Orleans, Ms. Clark was named to the Forbes “One Hundred Most Powerful Women in the World” list in 2009 and was named the “Best CFO of the Year for 2011 for a Large Public Company” by the Houston Business Journal. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Charles Kerans is a Senior Technical Advisor to TerraVolta Resources. Dr. Kerans serves as the Goldhammer Chair of Carbonate Geology at the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences and is a Senior Scientist at the Bureau of Economic Geology's Carbonate Reservoir Characterization Research Laboratory, Jackson School of Geosciences, The University of Texas at Austin. He has worked on carbonate reservoir systems in the Permian Basin, the Cretaceous-Jurassic carbonates of the Gulf of Mexico basin, as well as carbonate reservoir systems throughout the Middle East, Latin America, and Canada. With 42 years of professional experience and over 370 publications, Dr. Kerans is recognized globally as an expert in carbonate reservoirs, having received numerous awards from professional societies for his research. Dr. Kerans holds a B.Sc. in Geology from St. Lawrence University and a Ph.D. from Carleton University, as well as post-doctoral work in carbonates and mineral systems in Western Australia.
Mark Semmelbeck is a Senior Technical Advisor to TerraVolta Resources. Dr. Semmelbeck is a serial entrepreneur who founded five oil and gas companies between 1999 and 2019. Dr. Semmelbeck is an expert in reservoir engineering in both conventional and unconventional oil and gas resources. He began his career with S.A. Holditch & Associates, a pioneer in the development of technologies for the exploitation of tight gas and shale reservoirs in the U.S. and internationally. He also worked for Schlumberger and Enron Oil & Gas before founding his first independent E&P company. In 2021, Dr. Semmelbeck founded Better Nutritional Strategies, a nutritional technology company and developer of the mobile app A Better Meal. In addition, he serves on the boards of Good Works Collective and His Voice Global. Dr. Semmelbeck holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
