What We Do At TerraVolta

We are committed to delivering the highest quality lithium and other critical minerals to our customers by developing reliable, affordable energy solutions that promote electrification and diversification of our energy supply chain.

We employ advanced reservoir, geologic, and hydrogeologic technologies to identify potential lithium-rich formations and sources throughout the United States. Following rigorous on-site and off-site testing to confirm the resource, each area of interest is delineated.

Exploration

Once a potential lithium source area is identified, our team initiates the process of acquiring mineral rights. This involves negotiations with land and mineral owners, conducting thorough diligence and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. We work closely with local communities and stakeholders to secure these rights responsibly and ethically.

Mineral Rights Acquisition

Once mineral rights are acquired, our highly-experienced team of engineers drill and complete wells in these lithium-rich deposits. Through these wells, we pump the brine to the surface.

Production of Brine for Mineral Extraction

We treat the brine and extract lithium through a complex, stepwise process of removing unwanted characteristics and then purifying and extracting the lithium in a flow-through process.

Lithium Extraction

We then flow the purified lithium solution through a process that converts it into battery grade lithium carbonate or hydroxide and precipitate that final product out of solution as a solid.

Battery Grade Conversion

The precipitated lithium carbonate or hydroxide is collected through a filtration process. Once filtered, the product is thoroughly dried, packaged, and delivered to our end customers.

Purification and Drying

Final Product

The dried lithium carbonate or hydroxide undergoes further processing, resulting in the final battery grade lithium product. This high-quality product is ready to power a multitude of applications, from electric vehicle batteries to energy storage systems.
